Endless paperwork…

The endless admin behind advocating for a child with additional needs…

It’s late, no digital media expert would ever recommend posting at this time on social media as the algorithm would not like it, and it is very possible that no one will see it but I still felt the need to share!

Over the past few months, and in particular these past few weeks, completing and reading the paperwork involved in advocating for Síne has been a full time job in itself. The past few evenings in particular, I have moved from my work laptop straight to my personal laptop to continue on the journey of repeatedly having to prove how she is struggling.

This is the fourth night in a row that I have stumbled up the stairs, my drooping eyes barely staying open as I climb into bed. It’s not only the physical and mental effort required to complete and respond to the endless questions but also the emotional exhaustion that comes with it. Seeing how and where your child struggles in black and white can be quite the punch in the stomach despite the fact you are currently living it day in day out. There is something much more real about a situation when you have to write it down in such detail.

Anywho, for any other parents just tumbling into bed and crossing all their fingers that their little one doesn’t wake up until at least you get a few hours sleep … I see you and hope that your coffee is a strong and sweet one in the morning 🙃
