This was an enjoyable, easy to read story that had me guessing a couple of times throughout.
Following the death of her mother, Mackenzie Casper, begins to get mysterious letters that contain snippets from her mum’s diary. Balancing the public interest in the death of her mum, a best-selling author, Mackenzie begins to dig a little deeper into what she thought she knew about her family.
The book is written from the different perspectives of various characters, two main ones, and tends to jump back between the past and the present using a variety of methods including flashbacks and letters. Despite this it is still very easy to follow and flowed quite well. I really enjoyed the format and the different styles of writing the narrative as it helped to provide greater depth to some of the characters without having to go into great explanations or details. This information rather was naturally curated from what said characters were saying and doing.
I love books with twists and turns and this one definitely satisfied that on different levels.
Would definitely recommend as a quick and easy read that keeps you guessing with each chapter.
